pretty cool change up at 1:45, what is a red cap, the hotel porter? Amazed myself while playing GH:Van Halen last night with three friends, I guess I like Van Halen more than I thought. Inclusion of some Queen didn't hurt then either...
Learning to Spell
I always understood a "red cap" to be an evil little goblin that wore a cap soaked in the blood of his victims, and if the cap ever dried, the goblin died...The only way they could be killed.
How that fits into the lyrics of this song is another matter...

I guess I understand this song to be about a bunch of nastly little men fighting over a comely lass in a dark and scary pub...
