Etymology: Australian slang, short for earlier plink-plonk, perhaps modification of French vin blanc white wine; later adapted by U.S. servicemen during WWII
Date: 1930's
01: a cheap grade of wine (or sometimes hard liquor) often made with atypical ingredients, such as wildflowers, rhubarb, prunes, or black currants; "That fucking plonk made me plotz in my Sansabelts and puke all over the cat."
